Butler University is a private university in Indianapolis, Indiana. Founded in 1855 and named after founder Ovid Butler, the university has over 60 major academic fields of study in six colleges. The Lacy School of Business is honored to be named after our friend, benefactor, and mentor Andre B. Lacy in recognition of a $25 million gift from him and his wife, Julia. Andre Lacy was Chairman of the Board of Indianapolis-based Lacy Diversified Industries, and served as a senior advisor to the school, sharing more than 50 years of business acumen with students, faculty, and staff. Andre and Julia chose to make their investment in Butler because of its focus on small and family-owned business, and because of the real-world experience its students receive.

Program description
The Butler MBA doesn’t confine learning to the classroom. We believe in the power of hands-on, experiential learning, and saturate our program with opportunities to apply classroom concepts to real-world situations. From the initial Gateway Experience to the concluding Capstone Experience, our curriculum emphasizes blending theory and practice in a flexible, self-paced, and student-focused environment. The Butler MBA is not cohort-based education. Students create their own schedules, within the structure of the classes offered, and choose their own course loads, allowing them to learn at their own pace and balance the demands of work, school, and life. On average, students complete their Butler MBA in 2 ½ years, but you have up to five years to finish at a pace that’s right for you.
