Alumni Talks: Geneva School of Economics and Management

Program description:

The Executive MBA provides executives with a first-class general management education without interrupting their careers. The program is designed to balance theory and practical application, and combines classroom learning with interactive personal development. The experienced faculty are keenly aware of the need for today’s managers and business leaders to develop and implement efficient operational solutions, while simultaneously ensuring the strategic renewal of their organizations. The curriculum consists of 90 credit hours in total. 

The first year of the EMBA includes 12 core modules: Business Economics, Financial Accounting, Effective Communication / Negotiation,  Financial Policy, Human Resource Management, Management Accounting, Marketing, Organization Design, Risk Management / Operations, Self-Leadership, Strategic Management, Strategic Thinking, Decision Making, and Communication. 

Upon successful completion of the 1st year, participants continue their studies with the 2nd year EMBA traditional track: Entrepreneurial Leadership.


  • Frequency (attendance): Part-time, bi-weekly format (Fri 14.15-21.00 & Sat 8.15-13.00, some modules are scheduled on 3 consecutive full days.

Follow the news

Last Thursday, Dr. Henry Jacoby, Professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management gave a lecture on "Global Climate Change". The conference was followed by a panel discussion with academics and experts on the topic.

On Friday, Prof. Henry Jacoby received at the Dies Academicus Ceremony a Doctorate Honoris Causa from UNIGE to honor his important contributions in the area of Climate Change and in recognition of his strong ties with our university.


The 2019 Solari Lecture will welcome Prof. Bengt Robert Holmström, Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and laureate of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences.

Prof. Bengt Holmström will discuss “New forms of organization viewed through the lens of contract theory”, the research topic for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2016.
