For decades, classes in business, economics and accounting were taught at NC State through the Department of Economics and Business. By the 1980s, that lone department was graduating more NC State students than any other, which highlighted an opportunity for a new college to be created in its place. In 1990, a committee was formed to explore that possibility.

Program description
Completed over a two-year academic period on our downtown Raleigh campus, this MBA offers comprehensive options to meet individual interests and career ambitions. Students graduate with the confidence and know-how needed to be highly effective leaders. NC State uniquely provides you with real world experiences and practical skills – rooted in an innovative curriculum – to grow your career in a technology-driven, global marketplace. The students complete the 56-credit hour program in 21 months, or four semesters. Core courses, electives courses that fulfill requirements toward one of six concentrations, analytical and quantitative courses and a required practicum course complete the Jenkins full-time MBA program.
