GMAT Online Exam Now Available

GMAC has announced that registration for the GMAT Online exam, an interim alternative to the test center GMAT exam, is now open.

Many candidates are facing b-school application deadlines. Many have either had their GMAT appointment canceled due to Covid-19 or may not feel comfortable testing in a test center during this time. The GMAT Online exam is an online solution designed to help candidates meet their deadlines and continue with their b-school goals.

Appointments for test dates are available as early as 20 April, 2020 and extend through 15 June, 2020. The benefit of the GMAT Online exam is that candidates can schedule appointment times around the clock—24 hours a day, seven days a week—allowing for greater flexibility during an evolving situation.

More about the GMAT Online exam:

•            Exam Structure & Time - The interim exam is similar in structure to the GMAT exam delivered in test centers, and has been adapted for near-term access on an online testing platform. The exam has the same number of items and time for completion across the Quant, Verbal and IR sections (the AWA section is not included). Altogether, the GMAT Online exam will take approximately three hours to complete – two hours and 45 minutes for the exam and 15 minutes for the online proctor check-in process.

•            Exam Scores - Section scores, Total Score and associated percentiles will be on the same score scale as the GMAT exam delivered in test centers for consistency, and available to the test taker within one week of the exam appointment.

•            Access - The GMAT Online exam is accessible on a personal computer with a MAC or Windows operating system that meets the required technical specifications. Test takers will be provided with detailed information on these requirements and will have an opportunity to run a system test prior to their test date.

•            Accommodations for Candidates with Disabilities - We will be adding accommodations in mid-May to assist test takers with disabilities.

•            Availability - The interim exam is available in all markets globally except for mainland China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Slovenia due to regulatory and data privacy rules.

•            Cost - The GMAT Online costs USD 200 and includes five score reports for candidates to send to their select schools. Candidates will have an opportunity to choose their schools before or after their exam.

•            Test Prep - Test takers who have been preparing to take the GMAT exam in person can feel confident continuing their online practice with the GMAT Official Practice materials. GMAT Official Prep resources are relevant to the online, proctored experience.

•            Security - The check-in and security protocols are designed to account for and accommodate the online delivery model and remote human proctors will be used to maintain the test integrity.
