Studies

The IESE MBA program is a comprehensive journey into global business management, designed to be completed over 15 or 19 months. The curriculum is structured to provide both a broad understanding of business fundamentals and the flexibility to tailor the learning experience through electives, internships, and international opportunities.

In the first year, students engage in core courses that establish essential competencies across various business disciplines. These courses include Analysis of Business Problems, Capital Markets, Communication, Decision Analysis, Financial Accounting, Leadership, Marketing Management, and Career General Preparation. This foundational year emphasizes building a solid understanding of key business principles and developing critical decision-making skills.

The second year offers greater customization, allowing students to align their studies with personal career goals. Options include participating in international exchange programs with partner institutions, engaging in intensive modules across different continents, and selecting from a wide array of elective courses. This flexibility enables students to gain hands-on international business experience and deepen their expertise in specific areas of interest.

Additionally, the program incorporates practical experiences such as summer internships, providing opportunities to apply learned concepts in real-world settings. The Capstone Project serves as a culminating experience, challenging students to address actual business issues from a general management perspective. For those interested in entrepreneurship, IESE offers a supportive ecosystem to develop and launch new ventures.

I would say that one of the biggest strength of my school is that students help each other out. Second years for example organise social events but also professional ones to help the first years. Another example is that students who are very competent in one area, for example finance, take time before the ecam to hold q&a session with heir peers and answer questions or doubts they may have(knowing that the grading system is bell shaped curve so teaching others might be detrimental to your grade).

During my time at IESE, I enjoyed a truly European and American MBA experience. In my second year I had the opportunity to do my exchange program at MIT Sloan School of Management and take several classes at Harvard Business School. Attending three of the top Business Schools, both in Europe and in U.S., helped me to expand my knowledge and meet new friends from all over the world. Having gone through the experience of the MBA, I am confident that I made the right decision selecting IESE because all these opportunities that I enjoyed wouldn’t have been possible in any other Business School.
