Program description

The EMBA is a defense-focused management curriculum tailored to include the latest defense-concentrated studies. The program design and coursework capitalize on the current managerial and leadership experience of program participants. The EMBA is a 24-month, part-time distance learning program for Department of the Navy officers (O-4 and above/O-3 with a waiver), DON senior civilians, officers (O-4 and above/O-3 with a waiver) of other branches of the Armed Forces, and senior employees of other federal agencies. The curriculum also satisfies DAU Academic Level II equivalencies for all program management functional training. DAU changes made after the establishment of the EMBA program for an academic cohort will be reviewed and accommodated if and where feasible. The EMBA degree requirements are met by completing a total of 56 graduate credit hours over eight quarters which include: 44 credit hours of defense-focused core EMBA courses and 12 credit hours of specialized DoD financial management and acquisition courses. There are two annual entry dates- in March and in September.
