Our academic interdisciplinary and strongly practice-oriented approach offers a unique learning experience in collaboration with Italian “industry champions” especially from the automotive, food and wine, sustainability, automation&robotics and luxury fields. Our home is in Bologna at Villa Guastavillani, a splendid 16th century residence located in the heart of Italy, in one of the most leading economic regions of Italy and Europe.

Program description

Global MBA in Design, Fashion, and Luxury Goods: only the know-how of Italian companies and their worldwide reputation for quality and excellence, can bring together unique technical skills with a managerial approach to luxury management.

The Program is focused on the managerial skills of the fashion and luxury industry. A direct relationship with companies helps in teaching the balance between creativity and business in the management of luxury firms.

Made in Italy, the world’s luxury icon is matched with excellent management qualifications: Bologna Business School has obtained EQUIS – EFDM accreditation (entering the 1% of the world’s top business schools).

Alec Ross, Senior Advisor for Innovation to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the duration of her term as Secretary of State and he served as the Convener for the Technology & Media Policy Committee on Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, Distinguished Adjunct Professor in BBS; Alberto Festa, Commercial director Watch and Jewelry at Dolce&Gabbana; Angelo Manaresi, Professor of Economics and Business Management at UniBo; Dayana Grassi, Global Sales Training Senior Manager at Bulgari, LVMH Group, are some of the teachers that Global MBA students meet daily.

Lectures by an international Faculty are complemented by the business laboratory, real cases analysis, and interviews with industry leaders: through the Leadership Talks, students will have the opportunity to increase their specific knowledge, to learn about trends, strategies and skills required by Italian and international companies. Meetings with executives such as Mauro Bagliero, CEO, Borsalino; Luca Finotti, Creative Director, Creative Exchange Agency; Valérie Chapoulaud, former CEO, Rémy Cointreau added an exceptional extra value to the last edition of the Global MBA in Design, Fashion and Luxury Goods.

In addition to the international Faculty and the extensive program, focused on the most specific topics of luxury management, BBS also has a vocation for internationality and employability. The companies and institutions network, managed by the PAC, Program Advisory Committee, chaired by executives as Umberto Macchi, CEO of Tod’s and Lelio Gavazza, Executive and Vice President of Sales and Retail in Bulgari, is a key point for collaboration between the School and the world’s top companies.

This collaborative network is the cornerstone of a 12-month full-time study program followed by 500 hours of internship in design, fashion, and luxury leading companies.

Only the Made in Italy experience, together with an international network, can train future luxury managers.
